Our garden has a committee of 7 members. Initially, the committee had responsibility for all decision making, planning and all non-gardening activities. Members are taking more responsibilities for the broader management of the garden, which allows the committee to assume its constitutional role of overall governance. With the exception of one committee member, who was elected at our Special Meeting (May 3, 2011), the current committee is comprised of the garden’s founding members.
Going forward, elections for the committee will be held at each Annual General Meeting.

Our Constitution provides the legal framework for our garden. It was developed as a requirement from the Office of Fair Trading in becoming incorporated.

During our first Special Meeting of members, we commenced the development of our Garden Plan, based on our Garden Objectives.

The purpose of this Garden Plan is to assist in the effective management of the James Street Reserve Community Garden. The garden plan covers both gardening and non-gardening related topics, including:
A list of job roles, their responsibilities and the current job holder is also contained in this Garden Plan.
This Garden Plan compliments the James Street Reserve Community Garden Constitution, which is the legal framework for our association that details its overarching governance.
The Garden Plan is an evolving document that will be updated to reflect the changing needs of the garden.

- Save the Blog as a favourite. Easiest way to do this is just drag and drop the icon from the address bar into your browsers favourites folder or even browser panel, right click to make a folder and save all your blogs here.
- Use a reader to follow the blog posts. There are many readers and some are even built into your current email client. Just add the blog address http://jsrcg.blogspot.com/ to the reader and each time there is a new post the header will be bolded. Or use the 'Subscribe to' button on the left panel of the blog and add it to your favourite reader.
- Please comment on the posts. You can easily comment on the posts with any feedback, follow up or just your thoughts. This can even be anonymous.
- Easy Post - Draft. The easiest way to post is to just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The subject will be the title and the body will have the post. The email will be saved as a draft, admin will be notified, and your post will promptly be live.
- Blogger with Google/Gmail account. If you have a Gmail or Google account, same thing, then you can become a full blown contributor. You will be able to post directly to the site. We recommend doing a test post and hitting the preview button. And if all looks good, go ahead and publish it!
- Get a Gmail account. Gmail accounts are free and great for email (the best I reckon) but this also gives you access to an amazing array of online tools from Picasa online photo storage and viewing to reader, iGoogle and much more. Welcome to the cloud.
